C3 Contorted To Side, Narrowed Spinal Column Due To Accident. X-ray Showed Bone Spurs On C3. How Long Does It Take For Bone Spurs To Form?

Hi Dr. I was wondering how long it takes for bone spurs to form after a car accident and if they can occur immediately? Last year i was in a car accident where i was hit by an suv full speed which caused my C3 to contort to the side and thus narrow the spinal column. My previous doctor said that the xray (which was taken roughly 5 or 6 months after the accident) showed that there were also bone spurs on the C3, which because of the narrowing, were digging into the nerve. Also would an orthopedic surgeon or neurosurgeon be better specialized for this type of injury?
