Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
have afib/cardiomyopthy my infraction rate is 20percent, its gone down from 35 per 8months ago, when ive been in afib my pulse is some where in the 175/200 beats per could that lead me to not thinking logically? also loss of patiences crazyness ,it some times makes me angry to the point of yelling etc is that normal way of being ?
Dear Sir/ Madam Thanks for your query. If your pumping of heart (ejection fraction) is 20%, any episode of AF with heart rate of 175 beats per minute may cause very low output from heart. It may go so low that brain may not receive adequate blood supply. In such a scenario there may be altered consciousness, altered level of alertness or altered thought process may occur. A patient may even have loss of consciousness. Hence you need to discuss with your cardiologist, the ways to reduce the episodes of AF. Sincerely Sukhvinder
