Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Post cholycystectomy and post ERCP. Currently have what seems to be biliary colic . It appears as though this is called biliary cholangitis. Does ox bile help this or does one have to use Actigall? DOes this cause sclerosing of the liver? It looks like this is a problem and eventually causes a very scarred liver due to the bile back up?
Actigall won't cause biliary colic. Ursodiol is used to dissolve certain types of gallstones, to prevent gallstones from forming in obese patients who are losing weight rapidly, and to treat a certain type of liver disease (primary biliary cirrhosis). Ursodiol is a bile acid. So pain abdomen may be due to other problems please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
