Can Aristozyme Capsules Be Taken In Place Of Aristozyme Syrup?
My mother is 69 years old and she had undergone a subtotal gastrectomy for adenocarcinoma in 2011. On 31st Jan 18 she underwent palliative bypass for gastric outlet obstruction and colonic obstruction. Doctor has prescribed ARISTOZYME Syrup for her to increase her appetite, but she is unable to consume the syrup as its very sweet to taste, can she take the ARISTOZYME Capsule instead; also she is diabetic, is ARISTOZYME safe for diabetic patients too?
Since, both the dosage forms (capsule and syrup) contain the same active ingredients of enzymes Diastase and Pepsin hence capsule can be taken instead of Syrup.
Aristozyme Syrup is used to provide relief from heartburn, gas and other digestive disorder. It contains Diatase that helps in the digestion of starch and other carbohydrates. It also has Pepsin which helps in the breakdown of protein into peptides which can be digested easily by the body.
Aristozyme thus helps in digestion but not effective in increasing the appetite. Further, it is safe for a diabetic patient to take Aristozyme.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
