Can Azithromycin And Laser Hair Removal Cause Brown Spots And White Spots On The Skin, And Will They Go Away With Moisturizer And Cica Cream?
Hi, my doctor prescribed azithromycin 500 mg to take 3 days each week and I have a laser hair removal session once a month. “My doctor is doing these sessions”, I had a few brown spots on my arm near the elbow and I noticed a slight change in my legs skin color as if there are white spots. My doctor said it will go away as I continue to moisturizer and use cica cream but I am worried!
If your skin is sensitive, side effects of Azithromycin can cause skin rash, or white spots on lips / mouth and brown spots on certain areas. Side effect of the laser therapy can cause brown or white spots that are temporary. Brown spots that appear after laser hair removal are due to temporary darkening that begins to fade in 7 to 14 days.
The pigmentation is temporary and aren’t usually a concern. Yes, do apply moisturizer and Cica cream. It will take some time, but the skin will heal. If your skin is sensitive and shows persistent problem, you are advised to inform your doctor so that some other procedure may be used that suits you better.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
