Can Cephalexin Cure Swelling In Legs And Feet?

I am concerned about my condition in my legs. My legs and feet are very swollen, legs are so swollen and shinny. My doctor gave me Cephalexin 500 mg, for what she says needs because my legs and feet are so swollen. The circulation is not good and now I have an infection. Do you think this will take care of that infection?

Hello,

it seems that your doctor diagnosed erysipelas, which is an infection of the skin. Cephalexin 500mg four times daily is an appropriate choice for outpatients, so the answer is yes, this treatment may take care of the infection. Various factors may come into play though like involvement of a resistant strain for example (recent hospitalization, recent drug exposure, comorbidities, etc)

Kind Regards!
