Can Clindamycin Be Taken Right After Stopping Azithromycin?

I am 66 years old and in good health. On 10/27/17 I had 3 teeth extracted with an implant put in place for one of them. I took a 10 day course of Clindamycin at the time. On 2/28/18, I had another tooth extracted and took another 10 day course of Clindamycin. I had no side effects from the drug either time. On Friday, 3/16/18, I had a root canal by a different dentist and was given Azithromycin. This tooth is next to the implant. There had been no change in the shadow in the bone on X-rays over 6 months, but the shadow was quite close to my sinus so it was time to get this done. Although I told him I’d had no side effects from Clindamycin, he was reluctant to give it to me after the procedure because I’d taken it so recently citing the possibility of Cdiff as a side effect. I finished the 5 day course of Azithromycin, yesterday Tues. 3/20 and understand it will stay in my system another 5 days. (As a side note, I noticed in the literature that Cdiff is also a possible side effect for Azithromycin.) All of this background brings me to this: aside from much continued soreness at the injection sites (with no pain in the tooth itself), up until yesterday all was going well with the root canal. But yesterday, the 5th day, the tooth began to hurt pretty badly. I have not chewed on that side at all. When I tap on it with a fingernail, it’s very painful now and this wasn’t the case until yesterday. I increased my ibuprofen intake and added Tylenol to the mix and after a sleepless night last night, called the root canal dentist this morning. He, through the receptionist, says this is very common but wants to start me on Clindamyacin now. My question is this: should I be concerned with starting a course of Clindamyacin on top of having the Azithromycin in my system for 5 more days? I certainly don’t want a Cdiff complication, but I can’t continue with this pain or taking this much ibuprofen and Tylenol either. Thank you.
