Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am wearing Icy Hot on a 24 hour basis tor relieve pain in lower back for exposed nerves. I am waiting for my insurance to approve a cortison injection. I also use tylenol. I am getting headaches and would like to know if it is because of the combination.
The combination of these medications would not normally be associated with a headache.
Pain medications are not usually associated with the onset of discomfort. In addition, cortisone is not known to have this effect.
There are different causes for headaches. The most common are: migraines, tension headaches, sinusitis, side effect of meds, cluster headaches, due to trauma.
If the headaches continue or worsen then you should see your doctor for an evaluation to determine the cause.
I hope this helps
