Can Cortisone Cause Chest Tightness With Mild Asthma?
I had tonsillitis, antibiotics were prescribed for 7 days. Went back to dr on day 9 due to severe sore throat and rhinitis. Another course of antibiotics and oral cortisone were prescribed. 12 hours after first dosage I had a mild asthma attack, and the titeness in my chest remained. Is this in any way linked to the prescribed cortisone?
Thanks for your query...you seem to be a case of acute on chronic tonsillitis...you may be resistant to certain drugs hence a throat swab for culture and sensitivity should be done and you should be seen by an ent doctor....also, taking oral cortisone should not cause asthma attack....infact they help in asthamatic condition....i hope this gives you the answer
