Can Dextromethorphan Be Taken While On Metoprolol Tartrate?

I take: Metoprolol Tartrat 50mg Effient 10mg Escitalopram 10mg Eliquis 5mg Atorvastatin 20mg I have a cold and want to take cough medicine, Dextromethorphan HBr. My pharmacy is closed. Will the Dextromethorphan HBr have any adverse reactions with the meds I above? Thank you.

Hello,

Dextromethorphan act as an adrenergic agonist it may elevate the blood pressure. If you are on metoprolol 50 please check blood pressure after taking Dextromethorphan. If your BP elevated need to hike your metoprolol.

Use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling. If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor, he will examine and treat you accordingly.
