Can Diflucan And Norco Be Taken Together?

I have a yeast infection and was prescribed Diflucan by a click dr. I forgot to mention that I’m on a low dose of norco for pain. I read that there’s an interaction and I wanted to know if I could space taking them or how long I have to worry about this interaction since Diflucan lasts for 7 days if you take one pill.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Diflucan is composed of Fluconazole, which is used to treat and prevent fungal infections. Norco is the combination of acetaminophen and hydrocodone. It's used to treat moderate to severe pain.
Major interaction has been noted with combination of hydrocodone (present in Narco) with Fluconazole.
Fluconazole may increase the blood levels of hydrocodone. This may increase side effects such as drowsiness, dizziness, light-headedness, difficulty in concentrating, and impairment in thinking and judgement. In severe cases it may affect by causing low blood pressure, respiratory distress, fainting, coma, or even death may occur.
As these medicines may interact and cause very harmful effects, it would be better to consult your doctor and seek medical advise before taking them.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
