Can Doxycycline Hyclate Be Used For An Infected Spot On The Leg?

my 94 yr old father in law broke open a spot on his leg that i've been wraping and putting anti bacteria cream on for about two weeks now . It's been looking good except today it looks infected. I have doxycycline hyclate 100 mg tab should i give these to him till i talk or take him to his doctor? He is a dieabetic so I know he doesn't heal fast

Better to use Amoxicillin/clavulinic acid with Metronidazole than Doxycycline.

Do regular dressing of wound. Keep it dry. Keep it control of blood sugar levels.

Take care of wound if symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
