Can Duoline And Pulmicort Be Taken Together To Manage Asthma?

Hi doctor, Please note that my husband is having asthma ,normally he mix ventolin with pulmicort and he is ok afterwards.but now ventolin is missing on the market and the pharmacist proposed him to use duoline 2.5mg with pulmicort 0.5mg .is it ok to mix both?or must he take alone duoline as on the leaftlet of duoline it states duoline must not be diluted. Awaiting for your reply urgently

Hi,

Duoline contains the same molecule (Salbutamol) which is present in Ventolin, with the addition of Ipratropium bromide, both of these are bronchodilators (open airways, the basis on which it is used in asthma). If Ventolin is not available, I would have suggested Salbutamol alone with some other trade name, but if that's not available, it's safe to use Duoline, either alone or mixed with Pulmicort.
