Can Duphaston Have Negative Effect On Growing Fetus?
Hello Doctor, I am 4 weeks pregnant now. I had slide spoting with yellowish + brownish colour for past one day.I went to see a O&G specialist, he checked and scanned me but unable to find the womb in uteres. My urine shows positive result. He suggested me to duphaston. Intially as per my count I just missed my period in last 4 days. I am worried now does the duphaston will efect my baby if I'm in normal pregnancy process.

Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. It is not possible to visualize the gestation sac or fetus in ultrasound at 4 weeks of pregnancy, as it is too early. However, the urine pregnancy test comes positive at 4 weeks.
Duphastone is progesterone which supports the pregnancy by making uterine environment more favourable for foetus. It has no known harmful effect on the foetus.
