Can Ecosprin, Metolar And Flavedon Be Safely Continued For A Lifetime?

My husband is 67 years old. He had a heart attack in 2005 after which he was on different medicines. He has blockages in 4 arteries - 100%, 90%, 70% & 60%. At present he is on Ecosprin Gold 20, Metolar XR 50, & Flavedon MR since 2 years. He is ok but cannot exert himself or walk long distance or climb stairs. He feels breathless and tired when he does so. Is it safe to continue these medicines for lifetime? What are the possible side effects? What do you advise?

Dear Mrs,

The medications you listed below can be safely continued for lifelong. But usually Flavedon is prescribed for discrete periods.
It seems your husband has heart failure symptoms. In this case he needs additional medications.
I would advise you to see his doctor for evaluate his heart failure.

Hope I could help you
