Can Epidural Steroid Injection Cause Mild Headache And Fast Heart Rate?
Hello, I have a question. I just checked my BP its 126/89 and my pulse is 106. I have lower back problems and had an Epidural steroid injection this morning. I feel really hot but not like running a fever and light headed. My heart feels like its racing and I have a slight headache.
Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query. I understand your concern. Epidural Steroid injection by itself will not produce heart racing or elevation in BP. However if it was mixed with adrenaline or noradrenaline to alter its absorption rate and effect, the same can cause the symptoms which are due to increased sympathetic activity. The effect should wear off in a few hours. If you have further queries for me, find me on the web. Take Care, Dr Noble Zachariah
