Can Excedrin Be Taken While On Eliquis, Metropolol And Colcrys?
I recently had an ablation with a complication. As a result, I am not only taking Eliquis and Metropolol, but colcrys as well. I began this combination 5 days ago, but have developed a very bad headache the past two days. Can I take a pain killer such as Excedrin? Thank you
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Excedrin have asprin, then when added to Eliquis can increase the risk of bleeding so better be avoided. Similarly other NSAIDS should be avoided. However Paracetamol tablet can safely be used for headache. You can take 2 tablets 2 to 3 times a day for pain relief.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman
