Can Fenistil Be Given To Get Relief From Itching Caused Due To Chicken Pox?
hi my baby has a bad case of chicken pox, we have given her zyrtec, used calamine lotion and a la roche posy anti-itch/soothing balm, solugel and paracetamol for the fever to no avail. She won t stop scratching and she won t sleep for more than an hour or so day or night. She is only 10 months old. Can i give her Fenistil? it has been prescribed for her at a dose of 0.1mg/kg, she is 10kg.
I'm sorry to hear that your child is suffering! Certainly controlling the itching can be quite challenging and it sounds like you are doing everything you can.
In my practice, I do use Fenistil and find it is quite effective. It comes in a gel form as well that can be applied to the skin, and in the oral drop form.

Can Fenistil Be Given To Get Relief From Itching Caused Due To Chicken Pox?
Hello, I m sorry to hear that your child is suffering! Certainly controlling the itching can be quite challenging and it sounds like you are doing everything you can. In my practice, I do use Fenistil and find it is quite effective. It comes in a gel form as well that can be applied to the skin, and in the oral drop form. Calamine lotion is a great idea as well. Thankfully chicken pox is self-resolving and I hope he will be over it soon! Stay well. Dr. Jonah Kruger, pediatrician
