I m a 65 year old male in excellent condition (I m an endurance bicyclist). I take a (prescribed) testosterone creme daily. After 3 years of use, I noticed testicular shrinkage. About 6 months ago I was prescribed twice a week HCG injections, which are effective in reversing the shrinkage. However, just lately I have irregular heartbeat. My heart races, it skips a beat now and then, and on a home monitor my pulse will vary wildly up and down (my blood pressure is more stable). My family doctor referred me to a cardiologist who I ll see in 14 days (the earliest appt I could get). The only variable I see is the HCG injections. I m sure there are other variables I don t know about. My question: Could the HCG injections be causing the irregular heartbeat? Should I suspend the injections now, or continue with them until I see the cardiologist and discuss it with him at that time?
