Can HCG Lines Get Darker Despite A Miscarriage?

Hello I have been bleeding vaginally since September 18, lower back pains, cramps, very slight nauseous feelings, weak knees. Went to the doctor and he has diagnosed me with a very early pregnancy or miscarriage. It seems over the past 3 days my lines are getting darker on the HCG tests... can the HCG lines get darker even though I am experiencing a miscarriage?

Hi,

Well HCG remains positive even after few days miscarriage. It takes few days to weeks to completely disappear from the blood. Until then, it may remain positive. It gradually comes down to zero. Also, consult with your doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana Rajesh Babu, OB & GYN Specialist
