Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...I'm doing sex with one girl last one month. Yesterday I came to know she has HIV. Yesterday we both of us checked the boold also.Mine is negetive and her is positive. yesterday she was her monthly period and during sex her toutch in my pimpls which was on my thai. What can I do.. am very afaired. by the way I started PEP medicine.. please suggest..
Thank you for query.The menstrual blood can be infective if the person is HIV+. If the blood has touched a closed wound or pimple there are least chance of transmission.but open wound there are chances of transmission.As you have taken post exposure prophylaxis (best if taken within 3 days of exposure) hope for the best.Continue it for at least a month .You can go for tests later depending on the tests available .You can get back to me for any clarifications with the details.Dr Bharatesh D Basti Dermatologist and Venereologist
