Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m taking hydrocortisone for adrenal insufficiency. Started 2 months ago on 10mg/5mg/5mg. I have acute and painful indigestion and am now taking omiprazol daily. Very tired all the time, not sleeping well, no energy. I take various meds. for angina and osteoporosis and my age is 87. My endocrinologist doubts that hydrocortisone is causing the indigestion - but my pharmacist disagrees!
Yes cortisone can cause increase in acid production and make stomach mucosa more sensitive to acid thus causing the burning sensation and feeling of indigestion. Omeprazole is drug which can help you for the same. Continue using the same
