Can I Be On Medifast Diet While Suffering From Diabetes?
on the medifast diet. I am Diebetic type 2 Just lost 35 pounds and today for the first time my blood sugar was low 57. Did not feel good. My BP was 105 over 65 this morning. I am going to call my Dr. on monday to take a look at my meds. Should I have any concerns?
dear sir I understand your concern.let me tell you some important concepts that all diabetes patients should never forget. 1.both fasting and feasting is bad in diabetes.in extrem fasting as a protective mechanism body will decrease your insulin production by increasing your steroid levels this kind of response is for life saving, which in my opinion should not be misused for weight loss. 2. to have a healthy diabetes life one should train body to balanced diet and exercise but not for crash diet and fasting which can not be done for life long. 3. you reduced much weight but not all the weight is from fat you might have lost some muscle also which again is very bad. 4.after completion of this programm you body will go in to a phase called catch up phase in which it will store most of your daily food into fat.this is because your fasting will slows down your metabolism.
