I am 42 and I had a full hysterectomy when I was 28 years old due to cancer. I do not know much about hysterectomy I know that I still am still sexually active and I just got recently married and my husband and I wanted children. I can not carry children but I can come but does that mean the eggs dead?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Full (total) hysterectomy means when uterus with both the ovaries are removed so the egg formation also stops. Still, you can have children by process of surrogacy. Please consult a fertility specialist.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
