Can I Do Kettle Bell Workouts If My Replaced Hip Hurts In The Muscle?
Hi doc. I am a fitness instructor and I had a full hip replacement 9 years ago. I have started teaching kettle belle and have found the my replaced hip hurts in the muscle. Should I be doing kettle belle workouts? Particularly the kettle belle swings? Am I hurting my hip replacement by doing kettle belle training?
Hello. I can understand that you your self is a fitness trainer and so it is important for you to be fit and active but at the same time these exercises should not do harm to your hip joint. So if these exercises are doing pain in hip joint, then I do not think that it is right for your joint, It can make your prosthesis loose, and also it can cause damage to surface of the joint. So my suggestion is that do a normal walking, do not do brisk walking. Do not do running on incline surface or heavy weight lifting. As it puts more load on hip joint.
