Can I Do Vaginal Intercourse After Fissure Surgery?
hi sir I am a female of 29. 4 months back I had a surgery of chronic anal fissure. I am unmarried. I want to know, firstly does the flesh new grown on operated part of anus strengthful as the original one or how much time it may take to be that strengthful. Secondly, can there be any complication in having vaginal sex after getting married, And what about anal sex too.
Thank you for the question and I am happy to help.
The assumption after successful surgery for an anal fissure is that the fissure is removed and there is now healthy skin over the area. Hopefully you had a clinic visit to assure that the healing was complete. Also, one could assume that if you no longer have symptoms of the fissure, such as pain or bleeding, that it is completely healed. At 4 months from the surgery, it is as healed as it is going to be so I do not think that there is much concern if you are symptom free. You are almost certainly okay for vaginal intercourse (check with the surgeon who did this surgery) but I would tell a patient such as you that you should NEVER have anal intercourse because of the concern about recurrent anal fissures.
I hope that this helps. Dr. Tim
