Can I Eat Fast Food When I Am Trying To Reduce The Weight?

I am 6'1 and 275lbs, and am starting to realize that I need to lose some weight. I have started counting my calories now and I am planning on consuming less than 2000 calories a day as well as working out at the gym for 30 minutes to an hour a day. I was wondering if I can still eat fast food often as long as I keep my total daily intake less than the 2k? I do not have access to a kitchen often as I live in a dorm, so cooking my own meals is not an option for now.

Hello,

Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query.
I congratulate you in your decision to lose weight and be healthy.
The food has to be wholesome in addition to being low calorie. Most fast foods are not wholesome and they contain unhealthy and calorie rich fats. So it is better to keep off fast foods and sodas including the so called 0 calorie ones.
You could buy healthy salads and wholesome food. It is not necessary to cook your own food. You should reduce at least 500 calories per day from the calories calories calculated as per your height, weight, age, sex and activity ( can be found on many web sites). This way you can lose 1 lb weight per week.
The exercise recommended for you is high intensity interval training. Also practice stress relieving measures like yoga and meditation so that you don't find relief in food for your day to day stresses.
I shall be happy to answer further queries.
Take Care
