Can I Get Pregnant While Suffering From Gonorrhea And Irregular Period?

Hi I have a few questions/concerns...
The first is, I had my first period when I was 18, and only had one period a year until last month, I'm now 23, last month around jan 8th I had my period, last one before that being a year prior. And this month feb 13th was the first time I had a consecutive period. Which I'm thinking is healthy. My concern is... I want to be able to have kids. About 2 weeks ago I took a hpt and it had a very faint positive did another one with same results. I was pretty excited. Then a few days later I had my period. Bummed out. But than again happy because I want it to be regular. Im still bleeding 6 days later... never bled over 4 days. And last night had a huge scary looking blood clot come out. A few little ones prior to that. The other thing is when I had the slight positive I went to the walk in clinic and the test came out neg. But today feb 19th they called me and told me I had gonorrhea. I'm so freaked out. But could that have anything to do with the last 2 periods. And I couldn't have had it any longer than 6 months. Sorry about the book.

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.

Gonorrhea can cause pelvic inflammatory disease, which means the infection spreads over to the inner reproductive tract. That may be a reason for your frequent bleeding or periods. It is not very difficult to treat and treatable to a point of total eradication of the disease with appropriate antibiotics in the recommended dosage about which your physician will guide. Your sex partners are also to be treated simultaneously.
If Gonorrhea untreated or not treated properly, it may lead to salphingitis a subsequent block of fallopian tubes and lead to infertility.
Follow the advice of your physician and get cured fast.
