Can I Go On Roller Coasters With Cancerous Cyst On Ovary?
Hi, I have been diagnosed with a possibly cancerous cyst on my right ovary (part solid, part liquid). I am scheduled for an operation to remove it on 13 August 2014. But I have a holiday to Blackpool this weekend, is it safe for me to go on rollercoasters?
As a gynecologist I would not suggest you to go on a roller coaster. The reason is that many ovarian cysts have a stalk and are suspended in the abdomen and pelvis with the help of that stalk. So there is a chance that they may get twisted especially if the abdomen is subjected to sudden jerky movements and twists and turns. Even if you do not go on a roller coaster, the chance that an ovarian cyst can twist is always there but it is likely to increase on a roller coaster ride.
So please defer this until after the surgery if possible.
All my best wishes are with you for a speedy recovery.
