Can I Have An Allergic Reaction After Taking Augmentin For A Week?
Can I have an allergic reaction after taking augmentin/clavanate 875/125 for a week. I took my day dosage n have been itching ever since on my face neck m hands. No swelling but my lips feel tight. I have benadryl but im afraid to take it cuz I already taken xanax xr
Hi, Welcome to healthcare Magic! Augmentin is a penicillin group of antibiotic and is very well tolerated drug and quite effective one but there is significant risk of hypersensitivity reaction even if you have used it previously. You have taken a good antiallergenic drug but still run a risk of allergic phenomenon. You must stop the amox and clavulanic acid combination right now and consult a nearby clinician for further management. I hope the advise would be informative and useful for you. Take Care!
