Can I Skip Birth Control Pills To Postpone A Period?

I am on a monthly birth control regiment (tri-sprintec). My fiance just planned a romantic weekend for the week that I am on my period (I usually only have a moderate flow for 3-4 days). Would it be safe to skip my period week and go straight into the next month's pills, then have my period the next week?
