Can I Still Be Pregnant Even If No Fetal Movement Or Heart Beat Detected After 7 Weeks ?
i am seven weeks and three days today. the doctors say i am due feb 22 2012. but i went to get a ultrasound and they could not find fetal movement or detect a heartbeat. i have not had any bleeding whatsoever since i found out. i have had three m/c and this is my fourth pregnancy. could te doctors have miss calculated how far along i am?
At seven weeks of pregnancy, the foetal movements are not perceived; however, heart beats activity must be seen in ultrasonography. If ultrasonography does not reveal any foetal activity, it is not a good sign.
If the gestational sac is seen , if the embryonic pole is visualised and still if the heart activity is missing, it is suggesting the possibility of missed abortion. You may repeat the ultrasonography after a week. If still the heart activity is not visualised, it is missed abortion which you will have to get terminated ASAP to prevent further complications like heavy bleeding, infection, etc..
If gestational sac also is not visualised, this is just a delayed menses without pregnancy. Some Progestational preparation like Deviry for 5 days will get you withdrawal bleeding 4-7 days later.
Please report to your Obstetrician ASAP.
