Can I Stop Taking Losartan Potassium All At Once ?
Can I stop taking losartan potassium all at once? My husband has been on it for over a year and he stopped taking it five days ago and his eyes now feel as if they are bulging and they are all extremely light sensitive. His back and neck also feel weird.
He deals with arthritis, however, this is something that he doesn't remember ever feeling before. Could it be because he stopped taking losartan-potassium all at once?

Losartan available in 25-50 mg and usually uses in moderate to high degree hyper tension.
This is a most potent drug and maintain the blood pressure .
As your husband feels that eyes are bulging, light sensitive,neck & back problems.
As your husband stopped the drug, it might increases the blood pressure and symptoms appeared.
So he is already a patient of arthritis & abrupt stopping of drug is not good.
Consult treating physician and get his opinion and blood work done before any decision regarding drugs.

Any anti hypertensive drug should never be stop abruptly, it may some time shoot up the blood pressure, and this could be dangerous to vital organs, the symptoms you described here could be related to uncontrolled blood pressure, first thing is, put your husband immediately on anti hypertensive drug (Losartan) if still the symptoms persist then see the consultant, have nice day.
