Can I Take A Xanax To Try To Get Some Sleep After I Took Pamelor Earlier In The Day?
I started taking Pamelor 3 days ago for prevention of migraines. I have also recently been weaned off Mirapex for RLS because it wasn t working anymore. My doctor had said to take the Pamelpr for about a week before starting on requip. However, I have experienced a great increase in my RLS in addition to insomnia and anxiety.I have barely slept at all in the 2 nights since I ve started on Pamelor. Can I take a Xanax to try to get some sleep. I took Pamelor ealier in the day.
It is not advisable to take Xanax while on Pamelor. Taking Xanax while on Pamelor may increase side effects such as drowsiness, confusion, impaired concentration, impaired thinking and motor coordination. You should avoid activities requiring mental alertness such as driving or swimming. Ask your doctor for an effective but a safer alternative to Xanax for insomnia.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
