Can I Take My Normal Diet After Recovering From Jaundice?

Hi Doc,

I had jaundice and the bilurubin was 2.5 and then after two weeks of rest and dietry control it got reduced to 0.9.

1. so now can I take my normal diet, and Im away from my home for work , so can I take food outside ( like IDLI, rasam , curd rice etc......)

2. can I take dhal?

3. can I add little bit of oil, mustard and chiilly for vegetables......

U can have idli but without coconut chutney. Can take veggies but use very little oil. U can take dal but plain not tadka dal. Can take rice without oil nojeera rice or fried but can take plain rice.no groundnut. Don't take fried foods.can have fruits.take chapati without oil.can take curds or buttermilk. No butter or cheese. No dalda no dressing in salads.can take sprouts, can take channa murmura. Have small and frequent meals no non veg no yolks or heavy gravies

Yes you can take a good diet but u need to take care of fat.take low fat moderate carbohydrates good protein and good vitamins and minerals. Avoid too fatty and spicy food . don't take fried foods. Avoid cheese and butter. U can take sprouts for breakfast .u can include idli or uttapam but not wada and no groundnut or coconut chutney. Can take poha , Upma. Can take fruits also . can take curds and buttermilk. Avoid outside eating. Yes u can take dhal. Oil use a less quantity.3-4 tsp only throughout day. No dalda or khoa products. Use skim milk. Can take salads also. Have small and frequent meals. Take care of washing fruit and veggies before consumption. Don't over eat. Walk 40-45 mins daily.
