Can I Use Cutivate Cream During Pregnancy?

Hello, I'm 34, in my 8 week of third pregnancy. Before I discovered that I was pregnant, I used Cutivate cream for nearly 3 weeks - small amount on my nose to avoid a scar after piercing. I learned that this cream should not be used during pregnancy. Can anybody advice regarding the possible risks to the baby? Thank you.

Hi,
The medication you have used is a category C drug and can be used in pregnancy only if the benefits outweigh the potential risks to the fetus. Therefore, if it is not absolutely needed, it is better stopped. Please inform your consultant obstetrician about the fact that you used this medication in very early pregnancy, so as to take precautions. Since you used a very small amount, unwanted effects are likely to be less. You may go ahead with the routine anomaly scans. Wish you good health.
