Hi I m curantly having cramping on my left side I ve had the iud for almost 10yrs now I was dianosed with pcos a couple years back when I talked to the doc they just told me it was prob beacuse the coper can make ur cervix so thin it ll hurt perscibed estrogen it did help a littl. Thank you for your time and advice
Your pain could not only be from the cervix, more so since it is cramping in nature, it can also be from a cyst of the ovary since you have been diagnosed with the polycystic ovarian disease. It can also be from other causes like an impending period, pelvic inflammation, infections of the bowel and urinary tract etcetera. A complete clinical appraisal needed to detect the cause and plan further management. Urinalysis and a sonogram of the pelvis are mandatory. Do not exert or allow sexual intercourse until you are healed well. If you have been using the same IUD for the past ten years, change it.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
