Hi I have a severe throat pain that goes all the way in to my ears, I have a syrup from the last time I got sick. ALSO PLANNING TO TAKE IBUPROFEN OR ALLERGIES I LIVE IN CHARLOTTE AND THE POLEN IS RIGHT THERE SO I DONT JNO WHAT IT IS THAT I HAVE, NO FEVER?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You can take Ibuprofen for the pain. It will help you if you take every 6 hours if needed.
What can it be, I cannot know without doing a physical exam of your ears, throat, temporo-mandibular joint and the neck. In general allergic problems does not cause pain like that, so most probably it is an infection. But depending on the exam i may be also and inflamation of the joint near the ear.
I would suggest that you take the ibuprofen for few days and if not better consider seeing a local doctor to examine you.
Let me know if you have other questions or concerns.
Kind regards,
Dr. Papaqako
