Can Ibuprofen Help Alleviate Pain And Itching Caused By Shingles?

Can someone with shingles and is one steroid patches take ibuprofen and/or benadryl for the pain and itching. Also should the lesions be covered. Please disregard. I am not paying for online advice when I can call my dr. I thought this would just be easier since I was researching on line.

yes, as for as pain is the concern you can take ibuprofen/acetaminophen and for itching if I would be your doctor I would suggest some local anaesthetics (lidocaine or capsaicin) and also I would suggest antivirals orally/topically
I hope my answer will satisfy you somehow
good luck
