Hello and thank you for asking!
I can understand your concern regarding to your father's health.
The dose of insulin should be increased because the blood glucose levels you reported are too high.
You should report the type of insulin he is taking actually and the number of injections per day, so i can help you to increase the doses depending on glucose level.
You should not wait too much as this high levels may be problematic for his situation.
Will be a pleasure to help you further.
Best wishes,

hi, insulin dose adjustment is done depending on the blood glucose levels. If the patient has hypoglycemia .i.e less blood glucose than normal, then insulin has to be reduced or even stopped. If you can get his RBS checked, then we can opine about insulin dose. Also, if your father in law has kidney problems, then he'll be needing less insulin than any other diabetic patient.
one more concern is the infection. If he has sepsis i.e. infection in his body, that also affects the dose of insulin needed.
So to summerise, you need to get blood glucose level checked and kidney functions checked, then only insulin dose can be adjusted.
