Can Ipratropium Bromide Solution Be Used For Wheezing And Shortness Of Breath?
Can you use Ipratropium Bromide solution without Albuterol Sulfate solution in a nebulizer to treat weezing and shortness of breathe? I use both medications simultaneously as directed by my doctor with my nebulizer machine but I have ran out of Albuterol Sulfate solution and only have Ipratropium Bromide solution as of right now til my refill prescription is filled of the Albuterol Sulfate. I want to make sure its safe.
Thanks for your question on HCM. Ipratropium is anticholinergic drug and it is also bronchodilator. And can be taken alone as well as with albutrol(it is long acting betatwo agonist LABA). Both are bronchodilators with different receptor affinity. If you take both togather greater bronchodilation achieved. But since you are not having albutrol, you can alone take ipratropium. There is no harm in it.
