Can Labedet 100 Be Taken Safely For PIH During Pregnancy?
Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... hello, my wife is pregnant and into ninth month, recently she developed a lot of swelling over her hands and limbs and i think its pih,, the gyne suggested for labedet 100. is it safe during this last stage of pregnancy, pls consult
Labetalol is a medicine to lower blood pressure. It is commonly used during pregnancy and is safe for the baby. However, PIH is a risky situation for both the mother and the baby, and it is likely your OB doctor may recommend delivery if her blood pressure gets too high. If your wife experiences severe headache, seeing blurry or spots in her vision, pain in her upper right abdomen, or develops nausea and vomiting you should bring her to the hospital to be evaluated. Also do do if she does not feel the baby move like usual or if she thinks her water breaks or any vaginal bleeding.
So she should take her medication and continue to see the doctor at least every week to re check her blood pressure.
I hope I answered your question and best of luck with the rest of the pregnancy.
Sincerely, Dr. Brown
