I am taking zitia and 1/2 a tab of livalo every 2nd day. I ve recently been diagnosed with tendonitis in my lower r leg. I know livalo is a statin, which I am very sensitive to, but both my medical and orthopedic doctor doubts this is caused by livalo. I have no leg pain at nite. Your opinion please. YYYY@YYYY

It is a statin group of drug used to lower the elevated serum cholesterol level. The most common side effects caused by this group of drugs include:
Muscle pain (due to inflammation of the muscles), right upper abdominal pain (due to inflammation of the liver), headache, yellowish discoloration of the skin, etc.
Tendonitis (inflammation of the tendons) is not caused by this group of drugs.
