Can Losartan Cause Dizziness And Disorientation?

I took losartan - 100 mg. for the first time this A.M. About a 2 mor 3 hours I suddenly felt a little dizzy. My head felt a little unclear. This did not ever happen before. Could this be AN ADVERSE REACTION TO THIS DRUG. i HAD BEEN TAKING VALSARTAN BEFORE WITHOUT ANY REACTION. tHANK YOU.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Dizziness is probably due to postural hypotension. Check your BP lying and on standing position after 3 minutes. Adjust the dosage if systolic BP falls more than 20 mm Hg or diastolic BP falls more than 10 mm Hg. Losartan as such has CNS side effect like dizziness.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
