Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 11 year old son is in the late stage of Lyme disease, some of the symptoms he has had in the past include. sleepyness, vison has decreased severly, knee pain, and just played out. But here is the new one I am concerned with and would like to know if it is related. I recently took him to the ER for pain in his left hand by his thumb ( he bruised it a week prior and it just was not healing) while I was there they told me his right side of his hand was fine however, he did break the left side of his hand in the past. We did not know this but sometimes when he is pain he will not tell anyone because he does not want to stop playing. I will make him rest. Is there anyway that his bones are becoming weak from this disease?
When the patient is in the early disseminated stage the child will have pain in the joints. If the kid is on medicines, it will be taken care of. The kid has to keep himself away from games which can cause injury.
