Can Melatonin Be Taken As Sleep Aid While On Lisinopril For Hypertension?
i just started taking Lisinopril last week started with 5mg tabs that doctor recommended. After a week of taking it, exercising and watching y diet, I took my blood pressure. The systolic went down from 160(last week at dr. visit) to 130, but the diastolic was up from 90(last week) to 103. I called the doctor and he told me that I could up the dose to 10mg per day so I took 2 pill today around 3pm (forgot to take it in morning). I have two questions. 1.) Is it safe to take melatonin 3mg as a sleep aid with the lisinopril in my system? 2.) Can Lisinopril cause loss of voice/laryingitis? (which I am currently experiencing) Other medications that I am taking are Symbicort inhaler 2puffs, 2x daily

Lisinopril is a safe and commonly used drug to control hypertension. It does not interfere with melatonin tablet. Lisinopril will not cause loss of voice or laryngitis.
In order to better control blood pressure follow the given below advice:
1. Regular exercise such as brisk walking for at least 30 minutes per day
2. Consume a diet rich in fruits, vegetables and low fat dairy products.
3. Reduce salt intake to less than 5 grams per day (1 teaspoon is approximately 5 grams)
