Can Meloxicam Be Taken For Pain In The Lower Back?

Hi. Nice of you to answer my questions. My aunt is 93 years old and suffers a bad arthritis and on her lower back close to hip and buttocks the pain is horrible. Her Dr prescribed Meloxicam 15mg not guaranteed it would work but Dr is a friend and told her to try to see if it works. Do you think is ok for her to take it and what about side effects. Thank you!

Hi,
Thanks for trusting HCM for your health.

You can give Aceclofenac sustained release tablets in morning which will surely relieve her pain and help in protection of joints. If she had problem of acidity due to medicine give her omeprazole capsule 1 hour before breakfast.
Please keep in mind that aceclofenac gives symptomatic relief, will not treat arthritis.

Regards
Dr. Hiren
