Can Methamphetamine Usage Cause False Positive Pregnancy Results?

I used to be a methamphetamine user. I had quit for 7 years and recently relapsed and have been using again for the last few months. I am 5 days late on my period. I took a home pregnancy test and the results were positive. Can the meth usage cause a false positive?

Meth cannot give you a false positive on your pregnancy test. However, meth use over the long term results in the disruption of menstrual cycles and dysfunction of hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis in women. This can give you an irregular menstrual cycle.
