Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can Montelukast, Acetaminophen And Cefdinir Be Taken Together?
I gave my four year son montelukast, acetemetiphen, and cefdinir today. Although the cefdinir was given to him earlier in the afternoon and the other two were later tonight when he started sneezing and acting asthmatic... Can you please tell me if it is ok to mix these three drugs together and what sort of things to look for if there was to be a bad reaction other than the basic visible things like hives/welps/rashes, or my son complaining of a stomach ache and things of that nature. Thank you so much in advance for any help you give. Abby Woods
Hello Abby Woods, This is Dr. Papaqako answering your question. Thanks for posting your query to HCM.
I have checked in the Drug interaction checker, and there is no interaction known between these 3 drugs. So they are safe to take together.
Though, be careful to take them at the right dose for your son, and the times, as recommended by the doctor who prescribed them. Also take them before or after food, and for the lasting time as recommended as well.
If your son starts with a new medicine, check the patient information leaflet for the side effects before using it. Tell always his doctor all the medicines your son is taking, so if he needs to recommend a new medicine, he will give one that do not interact with the others.
Hope this helps. If you have any other question, please feel free to ask. Regards.
