Can Mupirocin Be Used On Lips?

I had a some reaction on my lips caused swollen and blisters. After taking a steroid menication, all blisters are gone but my lips are still dry, irritated, and buring. My doctor gave me a presctription Mupirocin but I am afraid to use my lips because this drug should avoid mouth area. Can I use the Mupirocin on my lips?

As per your complain Muricoprin is an antibiotic formulation and intake inside mouth should be avoided, so you can apply it over your lips..
As you have got an allergic reaction leading to dryness, irritation and burning of lips you can apply a thick layer of Petroleum jelly over the lips or apply beeswax containing lip balm..
It will help in locking moisture as well as lubricate and soothe your lips..
You can do cool compresses over the lips as it will improve blood flow and improve healing as well as reduce inflammation and burning..
You should avoid licking or sucking the lips as it further evaporates moisture.
In case of excess burning you can take anti allergics like Levocetrizine..
Drink plenty of water to maintain hydration..
Limit sun exposure and always apply SPF 15 containing lip balm when exposed to sun..
